What we collect

To create your book we ask for: your child's first name, age, pronouns, interests, and optionally hair colour, skin tone and pet details; your town and country; and your email address. We never ask for your child's surname, date of birth, photographs or any account or login.

How we use it

The details you provide are used solely to write and illustrate your book. They are sent to our AI providers (Anthropic for the story, Google for the illustrations) as part of generating it, and to our payment and printing partners if you buy a printed copy. We do not sell your data, and we only send marketing emails if you explicitly ticked the opt-in box.

Where it lives

Book text and details are stored in our database and the illustrations in secure cloud storage. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see your card number.

Analytics and advertising

We record basic technical information when you use the site — your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit — along with advertising click identifiers if you arrived from an ad. This is used to understand how the site is performing and to measure whether our advertising works. Where we share this with advertising platforms such as TikTok, or analytics tools such as Microsoft Clarity, your email address is only ever sent in an encrypted (hashed) form that cannot be read as an email address. You can opt out using your browser's privacy settings or an ad blocker, and your book will work exactly the same.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law (GDPR) you can ask at any time to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you and your book. Use the contact page and we'll action it promptly.

Children

All information about a child is provided by their parent or guardian. We never collect information from children directly.
